Creativity is often shaped by first experiences. Arabesque French designer, Judith Duriez was brought up in an environment of a true love for art. Connoisseurs and patrons of the arts, her parents passed their passion on to her. With an innate sense of beauty, little Judith was introduced to the science of colors and sketches by some of the best artistes of the 20th century.
Judith Duriez studied fashion design at the very prestigious Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture de Paris before being offered an apprenticeship at Chanel. For almost a decade, she perfected her skills whilst working side by side with master craftsmen for some of the most renowned French Haute Couture houses.
Years later, Judith and her husband, Gonzague, sharing the same passion for travels and new cultural experiences, moved to the UAE, planning to finally give shape to a very personal universe of design ideas.
Judith designed her first abaya on a special request for a particularly fashion savvy client who desired to have a matching ensemble for special occasions. Driven by curiosity and eager to put her creativity to the proof, Judith set herself a new challenge which led to the launch of Arabesque Sheilas & Abayas, in 2001.
Today Arabesque has earned a GCC wide reputation as a trendsetter in the world of sheilas and abayas. Bringing together bespoke French tailoring, the fine workmanship of the Haute Couture atelier and the impeccable finish, it is the brand of choice for women with a strong sense of style and uncompromising about quality.
